Following her Best Supporting Actress win at the Academy Awards this year for West Side Story, DeBose is becoming a hot commodity. She currently has four projects in the works: the Sony superhero film Kraven the Hunter, the science fiction thriller I.S.S., the spy film Argylle, and the mystery comedy Poolman.

Now, the actress has added House of Spoils to her impressive resume. House of Spoils will star DeBose as a chef who opens her first restauran but finds her success threatened by the ghost of the establishment’s previous owner. The series will be produced by Blumhouse Television, itself a subsidiary of Blumhouse Productions, the studio known for producing many of the most famous low-budget horror films in the United States today, such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge, Split, Happy Death Day, and more recently Scott Derrickson’s The Black Phone.

The upcoming Blumhouse series will be written and directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, known for their work together on the comedy crime film Blow the Man Down, which won Best Narrative Screenplay at Toronto International Film Festival, and for The Stand, a television series adaptation of the beloved Stephen King novel. DeBose is best known for her role as Anita in West Side Story, which garnered her Best Supporting Actress wins at the Academy Awards, the BAFTAs, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Golden Globes, and the Critics’ Choice Awards.

House of Spoils is expected to begin production this fall.
